Report: Irons check out second striker signing

Sebastien Haller is nailed but that can’t be the end of it!

We need another striker to get ourselves back u[ to where we were following the departures of Marko Arnautovic, Lucas Perez and Andy Carroll.

And according to Scotish newspaper The Daily Record, the Hammers are taking interest in Rangers hitman Alfredo Moreles, with the player also on the Crystal Palace wanted list .

He has a good strike record  with the Glasgow club , but there could be problems with his temperament and that’s the last thing we need at the moment after the Austrian.

Morelos is notorious for his issues on the pitch  but the Colombian is a decent attacker and may well fit the bill as a squad player at the London Stadium.

He is looking to leave the Scottish league fand at 23 is valued at around £5 million.

He managed  an incredible 30 goals and 11 assists in 48 games and came off the bench to score during the Rangers’ Europa League qualifying them for the round win.

Morelos has a nickname provided by the fans “El Buffalo” after he received a terrible amount of 5 red cards last season, the most recent one being him lashing out at Celtic Captain, Scott Brown, during a derby.

Hopefully if Pellegrini signs him to the team he can tame him down to a tolerable level, so that he can be a great success at the club.

Thus far most of the alternative strikers we have apparently had under consideration – Bellotti, Higuian and Costa – fall into the bad boy category.

But at 23 and cheaper than any of them Morales may be the best of them and at an age when the boss can get a measure of control into his game.

However, it’s a huge step from the the Scottish Premier League to the PL and whether or not we move looks a fifthy fifty shout/

  1. Yes he scores on a regular basis, but I wouldn’t touch him with a 10 metre diving platform. He is far too volatile, and would make far too much of a fuss.

  2. Go get him. He’s a poacher in the Cottee mould and, regardless of temperament is worth a gamble for £5m. I’ve watched him up here in Scotland so know what he can do.

  3. No chance they’d sell for 5m. Celtic turned down 25m for Tierney. Rangers might not be as rich but 5m is nothing for a goal scorer and they won’t want to lose face when their rivals are turning down 25m for a left back.

Gerrard has already said he won’t go cheap. I don’t know what is cheap to Rangers but I would imagine they’d want 20m plus.

  4. For a start Dom is right,Gerrard will not sell him for £5m,secondly,with all the clever players in the Premiership and because of his reputation,he will be a target in every match he plays, thirdly, each sending off he receives the ban gets longer. You takes your choice.
