Report: Irons eyeing 19-goal ace

West Ham are interested in a deal to sign Real Betis striker Borja Iglesias this summer, according to a new report.

The Hammers are eyeing a new striker in this window to provide support to Mikey Antonio, who remains the club’s only first-team centre-forward.

Spanish newspaper AS reports that there is very real interest in signing Iglesias, who cost Betis €30m (£25.5m) when he joined from Espanyol.

Betis are said to be looking to receive a similar amount if he is to leave the club in this transfer window, and the Hammers are said to be aware of the demands.

low raterThe 29-year-old has a lengthy contract until 2026 and scored 19 goals in 51 games in all competitions this season.

It remains to be seen if the Hammers will be able to convince Betis to sell, but there is a desire to sign a new striker, with Chelsea’s Armando Broja another major target for boss David Moyes.

  1. We do need an alternative to Mikey, let’s face it our number one striker didn’t score a Premier League goal for five months.

  2. You are right and we don’t have spend a fortune to give Mikey back up. I think we need two Strikers one expensive one cheap. Youssef En-Nesyri only scored five goals last Season but given the service and West Ham would in my opinion score a lot and he would not cost a lot.
