Report: Irons in bizarre £30 MILLION striker link

|

David Moyes made it very clear a week ago that he expected the Hammers to be linked to every man and his dog over the winter window and he’s not wrong.

He wasn’t wrong because with 11 days of the window gone we’ve lost count of the number reported to be on our list already.

However, one we can almost certainly definitely discount a name coming from The Sun this morning who are claiming we are ready to make a £30million bid for Watford’s Senegalese speed merchant Ismaila Sarr.

£30 million|? Bizarre!

Ismaila Sarr has been eyed to solve West Ham's striker crisis

The tabloid claims the Hammers are ready to top a £25 million offered to the Hornets from Palace which was rejected on deadline day.

Given the Irons’ financial situation to be considered ready to pay that sort of dough for any player seem s more than ambitious to put it politely.

Moyes was even asked at a recent presser whether he could consider playing without a traditional central striker.

He declared:

“Unless you do what Man City does, play without a number nine and you actually play even better than you’ve ever played before.

“You get in a situation, you play with a false nine and you can do that.“You have to start being creative and certainly, Pep [Guardiola] has been that with what he’s done at Man City, and who knows if we don’t have anybody, we will need to start being creative ourselves here.”

Had he the sort of cash being talked about here it’s unlikely he would have responded in that sort of fashion.
