Report: Irons make formal bid

West Ham have made a formal bid to sign Gianluca Scamacca from Sassuolo, according to a new report from L’Equipe in France.

Reports originated in Italy claiming that the Hammers had opened talks with the Italian club over a deal for the striker.

We have since had that confirmed, and a new report from France claims that an offer has been tabled for Scamacca.

PSG are also interested in signing the player, and L’Equipe now claims that the offer tabled by the Irons is worth less than the €40m that has been reported in Italy. €40m equates to £33.8m.

PSG are also progressing talks to sign Scamacca but they are also reticent to meet Sassuolo’s €50m asking price, which equates to £42.2m.

It remains to be seen whether the Hammers are willing to match that figure, and it is also unclear if PSG will go that high; Sassuolo seem to want this to become a bidding war.

  1. So what’s happening with Borja then if we’re on for other strikers

  2. No idea if it’s true but read a report today that describes Scamacca as quite eccentric in character and very much makes decisions others wouldn’t similar perhaps to a DiCanio or Tevez type, which would if true give him an edge in being loved by West Ham fans

  3. Hmmmm 🤔, Champions League with PSG or two Bob competition with us? He’s obviously gonna be coming to us. No contest! 😆😆
