Report: Irons offer rejected

West Ham have had an offer for Jakub Kiwior rejected by Spezia, according to a new report.

The Hammers have been linked with a potential swoop to sign the Serie A defender but are now reported to have seen an opening bid knocked back.

Tuttomercatoweb reports that the Irons made a bid worth €12m, or £10m, but Spezia do not want to allow him to leave.

They aren’t totally against selling Kiwior but if a deal is to be done, they would want him to remain in Italy on loan for the rest of the season.

The Hammers, though, are said to be keen to sign him now, rather than letting him stay at Spezia.

Of course, the Irons are closing in on the signing of Thilo Kehrer from PSG and are also interested in a loan deal to sign Eric Bailly from Manchester United.

Kiwior isn’t David Moyes’ first-choice option, so we can’t see this being a major saga.
