Report: Irons set for Giroud raid

GiroudWest Ham are tonight being reported as ready to make a move for  Olivier Giroud.

The striker has made it clear recently he won’t settle for another year with such limited playing time” at the Emirates.

He fell out of favour last season when Alexis Sanchez was often preferred through the middle, and Arsene Wenger went with Danny Welbeck ahead of Giroud in the FA Cup final.

The 30 year old has attracted interest from Marseilles and several clubs in Italy, but the Hammers are reported ready to join the chase at around £20 million.

The Irons have good links into Arsenal which were established at the time Carl Jenkinson came to the club on loan.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger and chief executive Ivan Gazidis were in Nice last week, reportedly talking to Lyon president Jean Michael-Aulas about Alexandre Lacazette

  1. Would be a good move for us if it comes off but I am sure we all have heard this rumour before, Arsenal offer him a payrise and he stays.

  2. I’d have giroud in a heartbeat …easily a 20 goal a season striker and most importantly he’s got a good fitness record …I know this may sound far fetched but ac Milan want to take costa on loan with Chelsea covering some of his wages , we could try to get him. He would not have to move house and he would have a point to prove…stuff dreams are made of

  3. Be more than happy for this to happen, but I have my doubts that it will.

  4. Would be nice but , you can’t read too much into it . Loads of non-stop stories linking players to West Ham .

  5. Let me know when you got something that’s concrete….
