Report: Irons set to miss out

West Ham will miss out on a deal to sign Eddie Nketiah this summer as he is set to sign a new contract with Arsenal, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper reports that the striker is now poised to put pen to paper, having previously indicated that he would leave on a free transfer once his deal expired.

The Mail reports Nketiah has been offered a five-year deal worth £100,000-per-week as well as a signing-on fee that will work out at £5m over the course of the deal.

He scored five goals in the final seven games of the season as the Gunners finished fifth and is now seemingly set to commit his future.

The Mail claims that the Hammers and Crystal Palace, as well as a variety of European clubs, now expect him to be staying at the Emirates.

We reported earlier this month that the Irons were unlikely to match Nketiah’s demands, and it appears that is the same with all of his suitors.

  1. Not exactly NEWS…. but thanks Dave for keeping us in the loop.

I like Nketieh as a player, but take away his last 7 games and he is not a £100k a week player… or striker at least!
Does he seem like a Moyes type player?
