Report: Irons still pushing for Moyes favourite

The Guardian reports that West Ham are continuing to pursue a deal to sign Jesse Lingard on a free transfer.

The Hammers are said to be eyeing a deal to bring the ex-Manchester United man into the club after his contract expired at Old Trafford.

We reported this morning that boss David Moyes has opted against making a swoop to sign Arnaut Danjuma from Villarreal and it seems that Lingard could be the target he wants instead.

He was on loan at the Hammers two seasons ago and Moyes has twice failed to sign him permanently before.

The 29-year-old is wanted by a number of clubs and there is said to be a major stumbling block in the form of the attacking midfielder’s wage demands. They may need to be lowered if a deal is to be done.

Moyes is also targeting a deal to sign Armando Broja, as we have reported, as he looks to improve his attacking options.

Lingard has forever been in the news, being linked with the Hammers, and there is probably something to it, although it is unclear if a deal will finally be done.
