Report: Irons target hands in transfer request

Sky Sports News reporter Kaveh Solhekol claims Stoke City winger Marko ArnautovicMarko_Arnautović_playing_for_Austria_vs_Wales_01 has handed in a formal transfer request amid West Ham interest.

He chose to release the news via his verified Twitter account and it came as ClaretandHugh was told by an Irons insider  “We are concentrating on signing strikers and a speedy winger – that’s our only interest this summer unless we lose somebody.

Should the former Werder Bremen man have made his transfer request it will have come despite him agreeing a new deal with the Potters for another three years last summer.

Since moving to Stoke the Austrian winger has made a total of 145 appearances over four seasons, where he scored 26 goals and provided 32 assists.

West Ham boss  Slaven Bilic has been keen on Arnautovic since against us last season and his alleged transfer request – if true – will give the irons a much needed transfer market boost.

  • Hammerkip says:

Good addition but I doubt we’ll make a bid

  • James says:

Snodgrass Feghouli or Arnautovic…the latter pls every time…

    • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

You can have all 3 and seeing as two of them favour the right wing and Arnautovic the left I don’t think it matters, Feghouli also looked excellent when played through the middle, given a choice of 2 out of 3 I would have Feghouli and Arnautovic but we will have to wait and see what happens as most of the paper talk comes to nothing.

      • JRS says:

Yea and considering if Feghouli leaves it is going to be for £1m after paying his sign on fee bad businesses. Good squad player and Versitale and if this Ndaiye does happen I see different reports some saying no new ones saying deal will be dome today. But we are fine with #8s and he plays #10 too. Quina and Noble back up for Obiand and Kouyate.
But Feghouli great attitude and scores goals when he got a real run of games. So I hope he stays and club apologies he wanted to stay and Slav told him he was in his plans. We have been there before having no back up and they is not a good situation so a versatile player on a free with reasonable wages vs a player who has played I’m Norway and Aupr Log with worse stats Feg has played in top leagues with hood stats and loves the fans ams club.

        • James says:

Well you keep on about feghoulis signing on fee…but all i read is the club are refusing to it…Slav told him he was in his plans in January for the remainder of the season…nothing was said beyond that…

          • JRS says:

He is a good player and £1m bad business. So yeah makes no sense to hive him away to get a player who isn’t experienced andnhe was told at ens of season he a spot to and was excited to get going. Comparing a player we has to a player were getting if you think that is good business than hood on you not I tho. And he is right to get is Sign on Bonusntheu didn’t want to pay.

      • Radai Lama says:

But surely we want Antman back on the right wing dont we.Well i do instead of Feghouli thats for sure.
Arnautovic left,Antonio right works for me 😉

  • JRS says:

Offer Snodgrass and £13m for Marko

  • hammers64 says:

Blimey. Its all around the mulberry bush again. If my poor brain can fathom the latest it looks like Hernandez and Arnautovic now, though wage demands could scupper The Mexicans move.See Leicester have agreed a fee in principle with Iheanacho. Why does everyone else seem to do it so much smoother. With us its like juggling porridge.

    • Radai Lama says:

Yeah they have agree in principle but they still cant do anything until this image rights thing is sorted so they might have hands full of porridge as well 😀

      • hammers64 says:

Agreed Rads.I know we say it all the time on this forum to newcomers, that a thick skin and a jesters sense of humour is needed but wouldn’t it be nice just to get one over the line to get our transfer window ticking a bit?.

        • Radai Lama says:

Yeah sure it would, aint no denying that but i aint going to lose sleep over it.The only reason i lose sleep is if i get my monthly bunk up 😂

  • JRS says:

We had a bid of £10-£15m rejected for Marko then shortly after he puts in Transfer request so he will have more suitors but Slav likes his Big physical players.
Marko Chicarito and Antonio up front with Lanzini playing behind would be a quiet a lot for defenders to deal with.
I have heard and I hope it is true that Chicharito is keen to move to West Ham and he “loves” Bilic but he makes £125k at Leverkusen and they didn’t make Europa and are selling so at £12m we can cover his salary even of we so it in sign on bonus and keep his salary down.
We could do a sign on bonus of £7.5m over 3 years and then his wages would be less than £92k
Doesn’t have to be that # but you get the idea. So I am hoping we are kicking on.
If the part about Chic loving Bilic and wants the move is true then great.
And Marko is training right beside us in Switzerland so Bilic could easily jet over for talks

  • Radai Lama says:

Sky saying we have bid 15m for him but turned down, but we are expected to try again.

  • claretandwhotwo says:

Too many yellows, a red and not enough goals or assists last season – he’s on the way down

  • Travis says:

On the way down is he troll.Well it must be true if you say it.

  • Radai Lama says:

I just use my eyes, not fact packs & he looked pretty tasty when he played us😃
