Report: Kostic bid moves on

West Ham have been given permission to discuss personal terms with Filip Kostic, according to talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook.

We have confirmed that the Hammers are trying to do a deal for the flying Eintracht Frankfurt wing-back.

Kostic won the Europa League last season and played a key role in their triumph, scoring twice against Barcelona and laying on an assist in the final against Rangers.

The Irons have yet to agree a deal with Kostic but it appears that they have now been given the opportunity to speak with him and see if they can convince him to come to east London.

David Moyes is desperate to further reinforce his defence after signing Nayef Aguerd and left full-back has been a priority for the manager.

It remains to be seen if Kostic will be willing to make the move to the Hammers, as Frankfurt qualified for the Champions League by winning the Europa League last season, but the Irons will pull out all the stops to convince him to make the switch.

Very High Rater

  1. a bit too old for me, but after watching us at luton today, we need a lot more replacements, antonio and zouma were rubbish, i had doubts about zouma when he came to us, but every game he has a mistake or flaw in him, he must be the slowest defender in the league, his innabillity to run is glaring, slow in possesion, and passing is hopefull at best, get rid please.
i noticed west ham this season in friendly games, now trying to play out from the back, were not good enough for that, lucky not to lose out to luton closing us down with pressing, we couldnt get out, very dangerous playing passing game around our own box, fatal against better teams.
i understand warburton is a teacher of possesion football, its his style, but this system is wrong for us, if thats what hes brought to us, then im not convinced, we need to stick to fast attacking on the break type football, we will struggle for top ten this season, its looking very dodgy.

    • All this from watching a pre season friendly against Luton Town ?… you should play the pools you’ll be a millionaire in no time ..

  2. Are you a bot? Zouma is rapid, maybe slower in pre season as it is fitness training not serious football.
Luton were the much worse team, the problem was more to do with creativity near the goal. Plus the team changed a lot over the course of the game because it was a friendly.
New striker coming and a left back with pace and attacking quality will hopefully help with that (if the buys even happen, never underestimate the boards ability to f*ck up personal terms lol).
Agree Antonio does not look the beast he can be but I honestly guess that he is told not to push too hard in friendlies due to him being a bit injury prone.
I want to know what happened to Dawson, is he injured?

  3. I think we’ve been playing from the back for about 3-4 seasons now??

Anyway, Kostic….. he ain’t a left back, he will be a like for like replacement for Masuaku albeit slightly better. If Arthur had been used as an out and out winger we would like him more, he even said he’s not a full back in his first ever west ham interview. I think Kostic will be the same, pointless purchase he’ll just sit on the bench.
