Report: West Ham to double their money on Kouyate

|

Portuguese media outlet O Jogo claims Cheik Kouyate will soon be leaving West Ham to join Porto for around a £14m transfer fee. The website says the West Ham defensive midfielder will leave the London club. and will be appointed to FC Porto.

Kouyate has yet to return from World Cup duty but was expected to return on Thursday.

Kouyate along with Jordan Hugill, Sam Byram, Edi Fernandes and possibly Michail Antonio were reported to be available this summer for the right valuation.  Kouyate’s agent is Will Salthouse who represents many West Ham players including Creswell, Obiang, Antonio and Fredericks.

Last season, Kouyaté made 37 appearances for West Ham and went on to represent Senegal in the 2018  FIFAWorld Cup playing some part all three of the group stage matches.

Cheikhou Kouyate completed his £7million move to West Ham from Anderlecht in 2014.

Hope not, would like to see if Kouyate can fullfil his potential under Pelle, he is a player with a big heart and a lot of character, he has also scored goals for us in big games which shows he doesn’t go hiding.

I agree No 32 – I would be very sad to see him go – sorry Hugh I have not yet got swept up in the Euphoria – the shabby way in which Moyes was replaced (Gold saying that he hoped Moyes would be there for a long time while Sully was already openly courting new managers) sticks in my throat a bit

Let us hope Pelle is not the new De Boer

Have we got a suitable replacement if Kouyate and Obiang depart . I can’t see one let alone two . He has great heart and has been superb on occasions but lacks consistency. He is another who is suffering by being played out of position by previous managers to accommodate Noble and cover for gaping holes in the squad . Like to see him stay until a replacement on board .

if Kouyate did want to stay then I feel sorry for him if he’s being sold off without a chance of pellegrini taking a look at him preseason. If he wants out then good luck to him. Always been a good character.

I’d let him go, if we can get a genuine upgrade like Medes or Rafinha. Kouyate has been a great servant, who always works hard, but he had a poor season last year and might not fit in with MP’s plans.
