West Ham are this afternoon being reported as having secured the loan signing of Manuel Lanzini hom it is claimed is set to be arriving at Upton Park to complete his medical.
Lanzini, who has scored eight goals in 24 appearances for United Arab Emirates outfit Al Jazira and has been tracked by the Irons for around a year.
The 22-year-ol almost moved to the East End last summer but instead joined the UAE club for around £5m.
But now the Daily Mail says West Ham have finally secured his services on a loan deal, with the former Argentina U20 expected to arrive in London today to finalise the details.
Lanzini is seen as a possible replacement for Stewart Downing, who is close to rejoining Middlesborough for £5m.
Thanks Davie. We can only hope he works out I suppose

On that report I read yesterday on this deal ( think it hitc or something like that) it claimed we almost had him last year but he signed for a UAE team instead. The report claims he’s had a good year there, for what it’s worth
bubs we had one but he turned out to have nothing between his ears. Eventually Lazio will find that out too.
This is the deal that gets me excited,at his age there is so much to come,I take into account what your mate says Rads and believe it,
But I just have that feeling again that if his early talent that was spotted in his home country
Is allowed to flow we might have found the one we have been waiting for,
Just a sad old man dreaming of seeing a breath taking talent in our colours
Lol,Hammer4,no problem.Well it is only what my mate told me from watching the football over there. It aint set in stone, just what he told me lastnight.Maybe he will come to the prem & be great.Who knows 😉
Radai. Sorry autocorrect strikes again
Radio. That’s good info. I wondered what the catch was with this kid. Always a chance Slav will light a fire under his arse.
My mate,ex-services works in the UAE now at some aircraft company. He watches all the football over there.I spoke to him on Skype lastnight. He said Lanzini is totally hit & miss, for every one good match he will have three you dont know he is on the pitch.Just saying, aint trying to be negative, dont shoot the messenger, all that stuff.Back to my bunker 😉
He has an Italian passport and therefore doesn’t need a work permit
The report I read yesterday on this deal on another site said yes
As a loan player, is it right to say he will not require a work permit? And should we sign him next year if he is good as we hope he will be, what are the chances of it being granted? Answers on the back of a stamp addressed envelop please.
Do you know if there’s an option to buy at the end Hugh? imo that’s very important especially if he lives up to his reputation.
