Report links Hammers with new midfield target!

Despite the winter window having just slammed shut speculation has already started in the Sun over whom we might buy in the summer.

And the name they have come up with is Celtic’s midfielder Patrick Roberts who has appeared 12 times in the green and white hoops of Celtic this season with just one goal to his name whilst on loan from Manchester City.

The Sun’s reason for running the story appears to be that the Hammers want to step up their rivalry with Leicester City who they claim are also interested.

They add that the Hammers failed to land Islam Slimani during the January transfer window and there is tension at boardroom level between the clubs.

What they fail to say is that this was caused by their columnist and Irons ice chairman Karren Brady producing comments that offended the Foxes in their ‘paper which led to Slimani preferring Newcastle as his destination!

The report claims that there is a £15 million battle ahead between the two clubs although the usually reliable www.transfermarkt.com values the player at £7.5 million.
