Report: Lyon up interest in Hammer

An Issa Diop move to Lyon is apparently becoming more and more of a priority for the French club.

The often reliable L’Equipe has stated yesterday that Peter Bosz’s side are going after the  centre-back in the next window.

And they are repeating the story and taking it a stage further in today’s edition claiming that initial discussions got underway at an earlier stage.

The 25-year-old has endured a difficult campaign, and was forced to spend more time on the bench this season.

He has been restricted to 17 starts in all competitions, out of which only nine came in the league.

It is also well known that Nottingham Forest’s  Joe Worrall is very much on Moysie’s  mind and were he to keep Issa that would mean we have five available defenders which would surely be one too many.

Angelo Ogbonna is sure to receive another contract offer and with him at 34 and Craig Dawson heading for his 32nd, Diop;s departure would seem odd.

However, that has had no bearing on Lyon showing interest in him with the Ligue 1 team looking to reshape their defence for next season and the West Ham player very much on their minds.
