Report: Maguire’s Hammers move has “collapsed”

|

Harry Maguire was an unused substitute in Monday night's win over Wolves

Harry Maguire’s £30m move to West Ham is being reported as having collapsed!

The Manchester United central defender has been Davisd Moyes’ main target for several weeks but a seies of snags have held the deal up.

Now according to the Mirror the Hammers have lost patience with him and are turning their attention elsewhere which is bad news for United as we are the only club apparently interested in him.

The clubs had agreed a fee last week but Maguire has stalled over the transfer because he wants to be compensated as he will be forced to take a cut on his £190,000 wage at Old Trafford. He has two years remaining on his current contract and received an increase after the club qualified for the Champions League.

He was an unused substitute in last night’s 1-0 win over Wolves and beforehand Ten Hag said he had to “prove” himself if he wanted to remain at the club.

Like many I have bad vibes about this move so best abandoned and find younger player on the way up!

So there is a footballing god after all. Thank heavens this deal has fallen through. Talk about dodging a bullet.

Was always going to be a gamble anyway – could it be Dawson 2.0 or buying the Titanic, could have gone either way
If he’s not prepared to sacrifice for first team football for the Euros then pretty happy it collapsed to be honest. Rather spend less on a younger European talent like Tah or the young lad at City

If this is true, that’s great news 🙌
