From the reaction from West Ham United fans yesterday, it is evident that the disappointment at the departure from the club of assistant coach Paco Jemez was huge. Our own readers made their own opinions clear as we highlighted: None, it seemed, wanted the combative assistant coach to leave, and several felt his was the more important signature to grab for a season in the championship.
Which made this morning’s report from insidefutbol.com all the more tantalising. After yesterdays ‘goodbye’ message, it seems that West Ham’s manager intervened to speak with Jemez himself:

“Paco Jemez has revealed that West Ham United boss Nuno Espirito Santo has called him and is keen to see him at the London Stadium next season.
Paco Jémez could yet stay as talks are ongoing according to todays’ report
It had appeared that Jemez would be moving on from West Ham and not back next term, however that may not be the case, with a contract extension now offered. Jemez revealed that Nuno has been in touch with him and asked him to stay on into next season, when West Ham will look for an instant top flight return.
He told COPE: “Nuno called me and told me he wants me to stay with him.He revealed that Nuno told him about his ‘needs and concerns’, with a verdict that there would be more discussions between the two about continuing at West Ham.”
If true, a massive boost for fans and surely the clubs chances of escaping the Championship might be on the way. From the report it appears the situation is still fluid, so we’ll reach out to our sources inside the club for some kind of confirmation.

Paco should have been given the job as head coach it appearsto me neither Potter Lopetigui OR Nuno where getting anywhere UNTIL Paco arrived
Perhaps he penned his farewell before Nuno was offered a renewal since everyone including Claret and Hugh was telling us that Nuno would be gone

I think Paco is more attack minded than Nuno. To be honest, i wouldn’t have minded if Paco had become the new manager..

Relieved more like – phew. The idea of seeing a bang average scowling manager rummaging through his beard for fleas, looking on in disbelief while another disaster occurs on the pitch through inverted keeper & the guy with the sponge perhaps, is more than I could handle and they would put me in a straitjacket.

Rolling 1 or 2 season contract till several recruitment windows have passed, academy players make it at Championship level (they failed to do so at PL level) or problem is recognized by manager & Noble so as to be addressed, WHU play a style of football deserving of recognition by a massive and football addicted & knowledgeable fanbase otherwise he can go stand on a different touchline somewhere else and rake in his millions and look weally, weally knowledgeable & serious there.
Everyone talks of change, that is one change that I would like to see, all of them out who don’t pull their weight, including players. It is time to clean house. I like the idea of stability, of developing a team, but last season was a shambles too many times and the team was not a team playing with a common purpose, conviction or even playing decent football. We looked amateurish and outclassed so many times. No more excuses, they’ve been used up already.
He just needed to know was loved and valued by us lot!
