Report: Maxi Gomez keen on Hammers

Maxi Gomez is this afternoon being reported as being keen to join the Hammers.

The report comes from Sky Sports News but there is little new flesh on the bone beyond that with the outlet repeating that a £29 million bid was accepted in June.

In fact, the offer was closer to £25 million and as things stand we are the only club seriously in the frame to strike a deal.

Sky reports that personal terms have yet to be agreed which could soon be ironed out if, as expected, the club bows to Arnautovic’s transfer demands.

Indeed that may well have worked in our favour given that Gomez was reported to have reservations about playing a secondary role to the Austrian.

The cash from China would – despite it being paltry in real terms – help the Hammers to fund the fee and personal terms for Gomez move, remembering he has a release clause set at £43 million.

  1. If Arnie doesn’t want to play for the Hammers get rid of him, no point in keeping him, don’t want another Payet situation ⚒️

    • Bring in Maxi Gomez his a top class striker he be far better than any other strikers around the world believe me I just know it he’s a Claret and blue army now that’s it let’s get the season under away we are buzzing what turns out to be a very exciting season ahead can’t wait for 10th August Maxi Gomez to score the goal and West Ham to beat Man City 4-2 COYI ⚒⚒⚒⚒⚒

    • They have spent so much time monitoring him, surely now is the time to activate the release clause with Arnoutovic playing up again.Dont give him away obviously but at his age 30 mill would be a good price to get now and get the Gomez deal done.

  2. I just don’t understand why we havnt taken the chance and put bids in ,I failr to see how waiting a n d waiting can benefit us even if that snake stayed we still would of tried to sign Gomez so it’s nothing to do with that …just get on with it ,we are either serious or not but nothing will happen if you don’t bid ..get the fu!!! On with it !!!!!!!?

  3. Let’s get in strikers that do want play for this great club. We need to be rid of that Austria and his brother.

  4. Sky Sports should change their slogan to ‘Sky Sports Misunderstood’.

If that 29m accepted offer wasn’t real, why would this be? For that matter, is it true that Valencia would be his preferred destination? Does Maxi Gomez actually exist?

It’s hard to do a 24/7 sports channel without making stuff up.

  5. Dear Mr Southon, 29 million Euros is just over £25m.
