Report: Mitrovic not ready to “rock the boat”

West Ham target Aleksander Mitrovic is reportedly ready to allow Fulham to decide his future this summer and will “not be rocking the boat” looking for a move.

The former Newcastle striker is attracting interest from us and other Premier League clubs but is playing it cool as the transfer window approaches.

According to the Daily Star the Serbian is in no mood to press for a move given his relationship with former Hammer and Fulham boss Scott Parker.

The Hammers have made no secret of their pursuit of the Serbian who as reported last night is a target along with West Brom’s Salomon Rondon.

Mitrovic scored 11 goals in Fulham’s relegation season taking his total at PL and Championship level to 36 over the last three seasons.

He is an understandable target – along with Rondon – but little is likely to happen until the manager Manual Pellegrinini returns from a break which has taken in the west country so far this summer.

However, the director of football Mario Husillos is understood to be casting his net far and wide as the Hammers look to beef up their striker options which will definitely include Mark Arnautovic and Michail Antonio next season.

  1. Mitrovic is not or ever likely to be a World Class striker, he should be second choice to anyone that can fill that role. Rondon is not World Class either but he is superior in almost every way to Mitrovic except youthful enthusiasm, he holds the ball up better, has better movement, technically superior, assists more goals, more experienced to name but a few. If we have to settle for not the perfect fit until we can attract or more importantly afford higher quality strikers then imho Rondon is the way forward, he is also going to be cheaper than Mitrovic.

  2. Mitrovic misses so many chances and not the striker we need Only worth about £15million as is Rondon Only Problem with Rondon is his value will fall just like Hernandez Why can’t we get young English players like Che Adams who is prolific We seem to let Leicester spurs and now Bournemouth with Kelly get those English players Look at Maddison now worth 3x what Leicester paid for him last summer It’s same old same old players past their prime and although we used to get English players like Cressie and Antonio we now don’t other than Fredericks on a free Need to change

  3. To be fair ; until our coffers allow , these players or players of Thier value are basically our only options . I have always liked Rondon to be honest . Strong and tenacious with good all round vision & awareness . Our injury list last season rather dictated our final league position and , in fact we did Better than a lot of us expected . So with that in mind a few players for a total cost of around 40million + a fresh injury free squad should see us improve considerably . There is also the FFP on everyone’s back , not forgetting of course the obligation of 7 players of British birth offficialy on the books . Selling some of our fringe players would naturally help in all matters .
