Report: Moyes eyeing January defensive target

|

Reading v Wycombe Wanderers - Sky Bet Championship

West Ham boss David Moyes may be ready to make a familiar Championship raid for his first January window signing with Reading central defender Liam Moore a  target according to a report from TEAMtalk.

The centre back is valued at around £4.5 million by his club and could become the player to replace loan signing Craig Dawson who, at 30, could be expected to return to Watford rather than seeing his move become permanent.
The 27-year-old Moore has a contract with Reading until 2023 and would welcome a move into the Premier League after a successful spell at his club where he has been a near ever-present having made 140 appearances over the last three completed seasons and eight so far during the current campaign.
However, according to Team Talk, the Irons are likely to have competition for his signature with both Wolves and Newcastle tracking the player. However, the London factor may play a part in his decision should talks get underway.
