Report: Moyes wants six more

David Moyes wants to sign six more players after completing a deal to buy Nayef Aguerd, per the London Evening Standard.

The Hammers confirmed the signing of the defender from Rennes on Monday, for a fee in the region of £25m.

And the Standard reports that Moyes wants to bring six more new players into the club as he aims to strengthen his squad ahead of the 2022/23 season.

The Irons will again be playing European football after qualifying for the Europa Conference League and need new additions.

The Standard make no mention of the positions Moyes is aiming to strengthen but it stands to reason that the boss will want a new striker to support Mikey Antonio, a left-back, at least two central midfielders, a winger to replace Andriy Yarmolenko and potentially a new goalkeeper.

The latter is likely to be Alphonse Areola, with the Frenchman set to arrive on a permanent deal from PSG.

  1. Another six will do nicely, if they’re all as good as Aguerd…
