Italian website Corriere dello Sport claims Napoli are targeting Pablo Fornals as a transfer signing this summer.
The 24-year-old Pellegrini signing set the club back £24m from Villareal last Summer got off to slow start as he tried to adapt to the Premier League.
By the time football was suspended in March he in good form and was showing his worth in topping many club statistics as well as becoming a new fan’s favourite with his work rate.
The Spaniard who signed a five-year contract with the Hammers in June last year is not seen as surplus to requirements by David Moyes so it would require a massive transfer fee to persuade West Ham to part with their player.
Napoli is suffering financially like every football club in the world and the suggestion that they would hand West Ham a handsome profit on their summer investment is very doubtful. Whether Fornals himself would want to take a backwards step in moving to the Italian Serie A is another question asking.
