Report: New Arnautovic dramas hit Hammers

Marko Arnautovic is understood to have handed in a transfer request at West Ham according to Sky Sports News..

And it is believed an unnamed Chinese side has made an offer to West Ham for the 30-year-old  who has allegedly told the Hammers he is determined to leave east London during this summer’s transfer window.

The controversial hitman f course was at the centre of the same situation in January when two Chinese clubs, believed to be Shanghai SIPG and Guangzhou Evergrande, came in for him with West Ham rejecting a £35m bid for him.
Rather than cash in, Manuel Pellegrini agreed to give him a new £100,000-a-week deal, keeping him at the club until 2023.

Arnautovic joined West Ham from Stoke two years ago for £25m and has scored 22 goals in 65 appearances.

ClaretandHugh says: It shouldn’t of course but to many this will comes as a surprise given the way the irksome Arnautovic chose to behave in the winter, seemingly at the behest of his brother Danijel. Our own inquiries are being met with a silence which may be deafening in the circumstances although frankly if the Irons have had a big offer from the Orient they would surely be wrong to ignore it given the player is now in his 31st year and in normal circumstances would have very little sell on value. The cash would allow the Hammers to go full tilt for Maxi Gomez plus at least one other as last year’s strike force is given a total overhaul. Frankly we can all do without another month of nonsense from the Austrian mercenary and his troublesome sibling. The dressing room would probably become a better place immediately. Enough is enough, time to get rid|

  1. GET RID OF AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, TOO MUCH OF A DRAMA QUEEN, UPSETS THE WHOLE SQUAD??? BODY LANGUAGE SHOWED THAT IN LAST GAMES LAST SEASON.

  2. Apparently he hasn’t…although potential brother issues again…

  3. Didn’t the new contract have a £40m buy out clause? Anything over £30m and I’d be saying thank you. He’s a plonka if he signed that contract and is willing to force a move £20-25. Mark does have form for being a plonker though doesn’t he?

    • We need to get rid for the right money and invest in a top class striker.Sounds like exactly the same scenario as in January.

  4. Why am i not surprised doesn’t matter if it is his brother (he is part of the problem) GET RID ASAP

  5. If it means we get a couple of loyal hard working strikers in then i’d Welcome a Chinese take-away. Deliver quickly or it will go cold.Again.

    • Last thing we need is this echoing round the dressing room before the season has even started. If the offer is sensible ship him out and use the money to bring in Mitrovic.

  6. It’s come at the right time. At least we can get rid of him and get someone who wants to play for the claret and blue shirt.

    • Well, we do have (keyboard) trigger happy fans!
      Lets look at the facts:
      1. Arnie and his brother acted like assholes in the winter / Arne and his brother tried to get rich (pick yourself…)
      2. Sky reports Arnie handed in transfef request
      3. West Ham (via Hugh) confirms there was a bid and declined.
      4. Arnie has said he’s happy (or whatever), buying a house in London and Pellegrini has plans for him next season.

My question is three-fold: except for this winter, has Arnie treated West Ham badly? Why would you all believe Sky over Arnie AND Pellegrini? @Hugh, did you ask about the transfer request from Arnie?

  7. Get shot of him

  8. “The dressing room would probably become a better place immediately. Enough is enough, time to get rid of”

    ABSOFARKINLUTELY!!!

  9. I think 25m is decent money, if we can get that then great but I’d do the deal at anything over 20m. Get rid of a trouble maker, find a young hungry player to fill his boots.

The board must know a 40m buyout is never going to happen. Given his age and behaviour, 20m plus is decent money and we’ve not lost anything.

  10. Goodbye , I hope . Never showed any interest in playing last season and should have been released when he wanted away . Didn’t really contribute to our final league position anyway so go and good riddance . Only signed to get 100G a week until he was offered a game elsewhere . To be real he is not worth the selling price . Best cash in quick and use the dosh for a better and more committed striker , whomever that will be . Couldn’t have come at a better time .

  11. What a absolute ……….. All that kissing the badge & crossed arms cr@p, I don’t want to see any player kiss our badge ever again. 98% of players chase the money & couldn’t care less which shirt he has on his back.
A disgrace to himself, a week ago he denied that he wanted out & his poisonous money grabbing twonk of a brother was telling all that he was happy.
We should have let him go in January & gone all out for Gomez then.
This goes back to Payer & the way he disrespected the club to force a move. Everyone thinks it’s fair game how to get out the door.
Accept an improved contract & 5 months later go back on your word
