Report: New favourites emerge to sign Rice

By Hughie Southon

ARSENAL have taken over as favourites to sign  Declan this summer and according to The Sun have made him their top transfer target.

According to the tabloid newspaper the Gunners have made the Hammers skipper their top target and are ready to offer around £80 million for a player whom we have a £100 million tag upon.

After their fine start to this campaign which sees them leading the table and near certainties for the Champions Cup, the north Londoners can be strongly fancied to beat 10th placed Chelsea to him.

Declan Rice has been made Arsenal's number one target

David Moyes’ Hammers value the England ace at £100m given that he has a two year option on his deal but Tean Rice’s three refusals to sign a new Hammers deal could affect the deal.

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal believe their eight-point Premier League lead puts them in a strong position.

Manchester United were also  tempted to move for Rice last summer but baulked at the  £150m fee and opted for Casemiro from Real Madrid.
According to The Sun Rice is seen as ideal to freshen up a midfield that includes Granit Xhaka, 30, and Thomas Partey, 29.
