West Ham continue to be linked with potential midfield reinforcements.
The Hammers do look a little light in the centre of the pitch and a new report now claims that Benfica midfielder Julian Weigl is now a target.
Portuguese newspaper Record reports that Benfica are willing to sell Weigl this summer provided they receive the correct bid.
He is said to be valued at around €15m, which equates to £12.5m.
That low asking price has led to plenty of interest and the Hammers are touted as being a potential destination for him, as are Eintracht Frankfurt, Borussia Monchengladbach, Hertha Berlin, AC Milan and Atalanta.
Weigl is said to earn a high wage at Benfica, though, and that has thus far been a stumbling block to any deal.
The 26-year-old has won six caps for Germany and has made 111 appearances for Benfica since joining from Borussia Dortmund back in 2020.
His contract expires in 2024.
