Report: Newcastle in surprise Irons move

|

Joe-Hart-644781Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez is reported to have made discreet inquiries aimed at taking Joe Hart to Tyneside.

Hart has been at the centre of a disappointing loan spell with the Irons but that hasn’t dimmed the Spaniard’s appreciation of the Manchester City stopper apparently.

According to the Mirror he is hoping the Hammers will agree to releasing him from his loan assuming Manchester City as his parent club are happy to do so.

Hart’s wages are £120,000-a-week, despite West Ham paying a loan fee, and to ‘lose’ such a salary could well be in the Hammers interests as David Moyes bids to reinforce in other areas.

Hart remains concerned that his present position as No 2 to Adrian can only harm his Wold Cup ambitions ths summer.

And the interesting twist is that the Irons could use the situation to help any plans they may have to bring in Newcastle’s Jonjo Shelvey.

Cancel his loan and send him back ! But we may be liable to keep paying his wage ?
He’s staying anyway ? Until the end of the season anyway ? 😉

He has been registered for two prem clubs. think the rules may be different in league. Or maybe it’s me getting mixed up. Anyone enlighten us?

  • jimbo says:

Mooro – He has only played for us this season, so far. Doesn’t this mean he has one more life in the PL this season? Burke and Cullen have been on loan at Bolton but are free to join other clubs for the remainder, or am I talking shyte?

  • mooro66uk says:

Hart can only play for man city or abroad if we let him go.

Like most say if we can get a decent no2 let Hart go, would be good for him to get the football in and Adrian is no1 now.

  • jimbo says:

If we have the opportunity to free up close to £100k a week, and to bring in a younger number 2, whilst reinvesting the wages saved, then it would seem to make sense. But only if the dildos do reinvest and don’t leave us with our pants down.
There are good keepers out there who would come and fight for a starting place in a PL team. We can only judge Hart on his performances whilst he has been with us and, truth told, he hasn’t been any better than Adrian, whilst Adrian has been loyal throughout.

Van Dijk up & running at Liverpool. Turkish striker in at Everton ( who are well on the way to safety). The clock is ticking Mr Sullivan….

Get shot and get a new no2 , plenty abroad and if going on performance counts the lad from derby had a blinder ? Hart is shot and never been class IMO ! England had no choice but have 2 in butland and Pickford ! He’s not getting back in goal so Moyes is IMO playing mind games and being a bit decietfull to hart. Drop Adrian for nothing and Moyes gets it from everyone!

  • JMan43 says:

Goalkeeper needs to be the least of Moyes’ concerns and I am not aware of “decent No2s” hanging around, so don’t see it happening at all. An in form Hart is a better keeper than Adrian for me; yes I know the issue is he hasn’t been in form for a while but can’t see him leaving until the end of the season. Our pressing needs are the spine, CB, defensive midfielder and if we do let Ayew and Sakho leave then possibly another striker and that will be tough enough in the January window

  • JMan43 says:

That would make no sense as it would leave us with only 1 senior goalkeeper and what happens if Adrian gets injured or form drops again, what do we then do!! Hart will not be going anywhere, we have no replacement.

    • markro says:

Probably true, but if we could line up a decent no2 in the window, I would let Hart go for two reasons:

      1. He has not performed well for us when he has played

      2. We are paying stupid wages for him, which could be used to strengthen the squad

In spite of Moyes saying that Hart will definitively get more Prem games this season, if Adrian continues to play well, how can you drop him?
