Report: Paqueta deal is done

Lucas Paqueta looks to be heading to West Ham

The Hammers are reported this morning as having agreed a deal which will see Lyon’s creative midfielder Lucas Paqueta join us in a record deal for the club.

The report claims the fee to be €62 million (£52.6million), which as we reported a couple of days ago will include around €10-€15 million add ons should it have been accepted.

We also reported yesterday the club had made a third offer for the Brazilian and whilst the Telegraph has declared the deal is now done we are awaiting official confirmation from the Hammers.

However, according to various reports personal terms have already been agreed for the 24-year-old who is travelling to London for a medical and to sign a five-year contract.

The transfer beats the £45million paid for Sebastian Haller, with around 15million euros being accounted for in realistic add-ons. As well as increasing the overall amount West Ham have agreed a revised payment schedule to satisfy Lyon.

  1. Lovely, well pleased. A real statement of intent from us which I for one doubted a couple of weeks ago. Onwards and upwards!

  2. Very good, but I prefer to wait until we see the photo of him in the shirt!
