Report: Pellegrini linked with new target

|

New Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini is today reported as being keen on Reims goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.

The 25-year is rated at £2million according to The Mirror and  has also attracted interest from Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez who, ironically, was also linked with Joe Hart last season.

The Guinea-Bissau international has gained top reviews in France, where he has just helped Reims win promotion concdeing just 19 goals in 31 Ligue 2 matches with 17 clean sheets.

He is considered one of the most under-rated keepers in French football, and has just two years left on his contract.

However, the Chilean could turn again to Chelsea number two and his former Malaga keeper Willy Caballerro  who is believed to be available at around £5 million as reported here earlier in the week.

The two were together at Manchester City and the Hammers boss is still believed to have great faith in the 36 years old.

Its going to be a long painful summer. Newsnow and the rest of the media is full of articles linking us with every second rate player on the planet. West Ham Facebook articles are all full of thick West Ham fans still having a pop at the club for sacking Collins via email even though its been well documented as a lie. All my hopes are on England to make it a good summer by getting knocked out in Russia. Last thing I need is a Spud lifting the world cup.
