Chelsea have a seemingly huge list of discards whom they bought and don’t use..  the players they left out of their recent FIFA Club World Cup squad  included Raheem Sterling, Joao Felix, Djordje Petrovic, Ben Chilwell and Axel Disasi – a staggering array of talent just left behind.

West Ham have been running covetous eyes over the Chelsea ‘unwanted’ and are reportedly interested in another of their players- midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury -Hall who was, it turns out, an attempted loan capture in the winter. Reported by thehardtackle.com, the Irons, along with Everton – who else –  bid to take the midfielder but failed:

West Ham United wanted to sign the Chelsea midfielder on loan in January, but the deal failed to see the light of day….

“West Ham are ready to return with an approach to secure Dewsbury-Hall’s services if the Blues reduce their asking price to part ways with last summer’s signing in the ongoing transfer window. Meanwhile, Chelsea will demand around £30 million to sell the English midfielder”.

Thirty million for this cash-strapped Hammers transfer window is unrealistic: It will be interesting to see if Chelsea decide to sanction a loan at the end of the window if nobody is forthcoming with an acceptable offer: Whether West Ham can afford to wait until the end of the window to bolster their midfield is a different issue altogether.

Other signings would seem more likely, as Gonzo’s article last week suggested there were three principal midfield names under scrutiny: Bilal El Khannouss of Leicester, Southampton’s Mateus Fernandes or a loan deal for Andrey Santos of Chelsea.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days - sometimes- have to admit I have not renewed my season ticket... I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970..
Favourite player - Dean Ashton: Still watch YouTube repeats of the Cup Final of 2006 hoping in vain that Shaka Hislop grows six inches and stops Steven Gerrard's injury time equaliser. Can tell I'm getting old knowing I saw both Mark Noble's debut and his last game at West Ham.
Pulling on a Claret and Blue replica shirt still makes me feel the same butterflies as when I was seven years old. Magic.

West ham should prioritize Harvey Elliot and Tyler Morton from Liverpool!!! Forget the rest of the transfer business and get this done! Then go and get hermadesen from Leicester and guessand as well.

The type of player we need but he’s 27 soon and us spending £30m on someone who will not have mutch of a resale value in a few years is a luxury we can no longer afford. Same goes for Douglas Luiz I’m afraid. I think Potter will be good for us in the transfer market but it’ll take a while to sort all our problems out. The 2 signings so far are a good start though.

No expensive cast offs please .

I realise footballers have to believe in themselves to make it where others have failed but surely they realise the risks of going to the clubs with the huge money?
Like Man City they have big squads of very expensive players and if you don’t fit you can lose a few seasons waiting to get a move.
Chelsea don’t need the money so they can wait until someone will pay an OTT transfer fee and the players career is on hold.
Very applicable to all the young players City and Chelsea hoover up.
Easy to say from the outside but all Premiership players are millionaires surely playing is better than spending match days counting your money?

    Just not Sterling – PLEASE!!!

  • Sue says:

    We want Elliott
    Please not Lewin or Dewdbury-hall
Elliott is one for the future and as I have made comments before one for the future
I can not understand how we have been dragging our tails on him.
I suppose they are waiting for another club to step in and at least they can say they tried
Laughable another player we are chasing whom we will not get
From a very sad fan getting fed up reading about him and all the players we are not going to sign
Unfortunately the owners are the problem
I have not had a comment shown yet????

There you go. Keep the faith, Sue, so far the signings looking eminently sensible. A lot more can happen in next 4 weeks.

    • Richard says:

I’m with you on this Sue.I have banged on here about Elliot.yeah he’s 40 million but what a signing he would be.
God we spent that much on Kilman.🤔
