Report: Rice meets Bayern as Gunners hopes dim

|

Arsenal’s move for Declan Rice looks in trouble after  Bayern Munich are reported to have closed on with an offer ready for the West Ham captain.

The story appeared in the Daily Express who claim that Rice’s representatives reportedly met Bayern chiefs in London on Friday to discuss a move  and the midfielder was ‘given the feeling’ that he could ‘imagine’ signing for the Bavarian outfit.

Arsenal have been big favourites to sign the 24 year old for weeks but former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel – now in charge of the Bundesliga outfit – is apparently moving in fast after wanting Dec at Chelsea before he was sacked.

Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg claims the Friday meeting was ‘positive’ and that Bayern were preparing their next move with an official offer to West Ham. There is no confirmation yet that the east London club have received a bid, but Bayern are ready to step up their pursuit.

Tuchel is now said to be driving the deal after taking over from Julian Nagelsmann in March.
