Report: Silly price quoted for keeper

|

West Bromwich Albion are claimed to want £20million fee for goalkeeper Sam Johnstone.

The claim – not unnaturally comes from the Sun – and appears to be based on nothing other than words with nobody anywhere quoted -not even an insider

According to them the £20 million is wanted for a keeper who conceded two goals per match after 37 appearances and precisely 74 goals during Albion’s relegation season
Now we know he can’t take full responsibility but £20 million – that’s surely another flight of fancy on the part of the tabloid.

Bearing in mind too that he is out of contract next summer – and not the most highly rated of keepers – £20 million sounds more than a tad stupid.

We aren’t even certain the Hammers are looking at him other than what the media are reporting and there are far more important positions on the manager’s mind.

On the rumour rating principle, this one is well on the low side.

  • Alan says:

Thought £10m was too much. Don’t think he improves us. Better than Randolph (Not saying much) but not as good as Fab.

The Czech number one keeper is on a free. Could sign him and use our budget elsewhere.
