Report: Soucek and Coufal recommend striker to Irons

the Hammers Czech mates Tomas Soucek and Vladi Coufal are being reported this morning as recommending Sparta Prague’s Adam Hlozek to the Hammers as a summer signing.

The 18 year old – who is having a decent Euros competition for the Czech Republic  – will no doubt have been eyed very closely by David Moyes in his consultancy role at the tournament.

And it would come as no surprise were the Hammers to make a bid to get the exciting youngster who scored 15 goals from 19 appearances for his club last season. despite missing 14 games through injury.

He has a contract with his club 2024 and transfermarkt.com values him at £17 million which may well be on the low side for such a prolific hitman.

The Athletic is reporting the story  and it’s not rocket science to work out that the Irons could easily be tempted to return to familiar familiar hunting ground for potential additions to a squad which exceeded expectations while qualifying for Europe last season.

Moyes, it is reported, asked Coufal and Soucek to recommend prospective signings from their Eastern European homeland.

And both apparently agreed that Hlozek would be a super addition to the Hammers squad to the London Stadium.

  1. This is more like it – a young striker already scoring prolifically and playing for his country. Recommended by our trusty Czechs and they would help him settle.
With Alves, Baptiste and Johnson as well as Coventry this should tell us where to add to the squad

  2. Delighted Moyes has asked and delighted to hear they have recommended him, not all we need is Moyes to give the green light. A top player and he will turn out to be a great investment.

  3. I’ve seen enough of Adam Hlozek to suggest that getting him in for the money that is being quoted, is a No Brainer! That kid has got a Big Future and the fact that he is playing international football at his tender age, suggests that there is much more to come from him.
If we can get a striker like Armstrong in as well, I’d be very pleased.
A top Italian (the BEST defenders) centre-half and a high energy defensive-midfielder and I’d feel good for this coming season.
    Maybe I’m a dreamer though

  4. Adam Hlozek Is exactly what we need he is good enough for the national team at his age that bodes well. He’s young , energetic, good movement & I believe DM would improve him further . I hope we go for him .COYI ⚒

  5. Missing half a season with injury at 18 years old is a very big concern. Could be OK if dovetailing with Michail Antonio downtime.

  6. The Czech team aren’t playing him the way his club side do coming in from the other flank, he is a handful and works hard, definitely a winger that could do what Arnie and Antonio have, likewise Sima both big talents that would improve us even if it takes a while for them to acclimatise to the PL, hopefully true and hopefully we can complete this deal COYI!!!

  7. Surely we’d need another striker too? If Antonio is injured it’s a big ask for an 18 year old kid, inexperienced in the Premier League, to carry the burden for scoring our goals

    • Probably – but where do we stop? He’s not the right player if he can’t do the job and we can’t have six top strikers on the books and only one or two on the pitch. Wee Davey will get it sorted Saul. Keep the faith. COYI

      • Aye, you’re right there Taffy, I’m sure he’ll get the right people in. I try to steer clear of the potential signing madness but I’ve had a lonely day and needed some interaction!!
