Report: Spurs and Hammers battling for midfielder

Spurs and West Ham are both interested in doing a deal for Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi, according to a new report.

The Hammers were linked with a swoop for the Serie A star earlier this year.

That report claimed that he was big pals with Gianluca Scamacca, and was interested in playing with him again.

This season, Sassuolo News reports there is rival interest from Spurs, who have sent scouts to watch Frattesi.

They have a big Italian contingent when it comes to their scouting and transfer decisions, with boss Antonio Conte and director of football Fabio Paratici both having huge experience of Serie A.

Frattesi is 23 and has already won four caps for Italy, while he has scored three goals in nine games already this season.

He has a contract with Sassuolo until 2026 but is valued by Transfermarkt at £18m, which is a figure both London clubs could comfortably reach.
