Steidten plotting German raid

West Ham United are reportedly exploring the possibility of signing Florian Neuhaus from Borussia Monchengladbach, as per German reports. The Hammers, alongside Unai Emery’s Aston Villa, are said to be in the race to bring the 26-year-old playmaker to the Premier League.

Despite previous links with Liverpool, Neuhaus has yet to make the move to England. Now, with two-and-a-half years remaining on his contract and a valuation of approximately £7 million, the 26-year-old might finally make the switch.

Nottingham Forest have also been heavily linked with the one club man. However any major business would appear unlikely give Forests dalliance with FFP limits. According to Sky Sports Germany, the midfielder is keen to leave Monchengladbach and has several clubs now vying for his services.

According to the latest reports, West Ham’s technical director, Tim Steidten, has travelled to Germany to discuss the potential of a deal between the two clubs before the close of the winter transfer window. It’s worth noting that Steidten was supposed to be in Asia and Belgium today, so either the report is inaccurate, or he has opted for an the tardis rather than usual private jet.

During his six-and-a-half-year tenure with Gladbach, Neuhaus, who has earned 10 caps for Germany, has contributed 25 goals and 26 assists in 190 games across all competitions.
