Anyone who thought the transfer window was done has not been reading the signs, rumours and ‘in the know’ comments of late. Hot on the heels of Aaron Wan Bissaka’s first part medical and media shoots which means he ‘should’ be confirmed in the next few hours- comes news from Spain of West Ham Director of Football Tim Steidten’s latest plan to beat Real Sociedad to a summer signing.
Eldesmarque have confirmed the interest which West Ham united have had in signing Carlos Soler from PSG is ‘live’ and that West Ham are in fact ‘racing to complete the 27 year-old’s signature and beat Real Sociedad to the deal.’
The Spanish news outlet believe Paris Saint Germain are willing to sell the Spain international for €20m (£17m) this summer, something of steal by this summers’ standards.
The Spain international has 14 caps and 4 goals for his country and is a perfect Lopetegui recruit: a right footed midfielder who would integrate beautifully into a possession-based side. If the stories we hear are true that either Tomas Soucek or James Ward Prowse may be sold to raise funds then Soler would be a definite upgrade into a new look midfield.
At the same time other outlets such as TBR Football are suggesting the target is – as we posted earlier – Sergio Roberto, former Barcelona midfielder, now available on a free. This window, it really would not surprise me if Tim came back from Spain with both!
Hang on to your hats, maybe business at West Ham United is not yet concluded.
Both players are good signings but I do feel a better left back would be better I do think Emerson defensively gets caught out frequently although offensively he’s good

We should buy fofana and wahi if we have the funds they are the best available at a price we could afford £50m for both.
If we don’t sign Soler or fofana I would give young George earthy a run in the midfield he deserves it and has the talent to do well !!!

Not sure if we are in for Fofana unless he is planning to sell Alvarez, Rodriguez and Alvarez are both CDM’s and Fofana is generally a deeper sitting midfielder so it’s unclear how he would fit in, we certainly don’t need 3 although I guess he could play Alvarez as a CB which was his original position and would give us that pace at the back with Todibo, him and possibly Kilman as a back 3. At the moment as others have said we need left back cover or an upgrade, still keen on Kadioglu if he is available as he is one of the best and can also provide cover at right back if they let Coufal go. The other place that is more important than midfield is up front, if Omoroddion is available we should go for him, he will guarantee more goals and a higher workrate than Duran with less attitude. No one is talking about Fabricio Bruno either who is a relatively cheap option at CB and a real beast.
Kadioglu would be a fantastic signing but really don’t see that happening.

Soler would be a wonderful signing but we do need a LB and possibly a back up striker.
