The transfer of Jean-Clair Todibo to West Ham is set to be completed tonight, with the player expected to sign a five-year contract within the next couple of hours.
The news was broken by Sky Sports Germany transfer correspondent Florian Plettenberg, who wrote on his Twitter page: “Medical done. Jean-Clair Todibo will sign his contract until 2030 with West Ham tonight. It’s a one-year loan with an obligation to buy plus 5 years.”
Plettenberg is known to have close ties with West Ham’s director of football, Tim Steidten, and has been accurate throughout this transfer window.
Reports also suggest that the five-year contract includes an option for a further year, which would be consistent with club policy.
Todibo flew over this morning for the first part of his medical, having been met by Steidten in France last night. It appears the Hammers have successfully fended off late and sustained interest from Juventus, who were never able to match the financial package offered to Nice for the former Barcelona player.
