Report: United veteran linked with Irons and Arsenal

Thirty three year old Antonio Valencia’s agent/father is busily touting the 33 year old defender as a West Ham possible next season.

In  a perfect example of “agent talk” Luis Valencia is claiming interest from the Irons, Arsenal, Inter Milan and China.

We don’t doubt the Chinese interest but the rest of it sounds like something out of la la land as the Manchester United player looks to make his exit from Old Trafford.

The idea of the  Hammers  swapping 34 year old Zaba for 33 year old Valencia is utterly crazy and a perfect example of how so many transfer stories can be shoved in the dustbin without a second thought.

This is not the first time the story has been circulated and it was denied to ClaretandHugh by senior insiders at the club when it first emerged last summer.

With Ben Johnson coming through the ranks and Ryan Fredericks in the squad Valencia is about the last player the club would consider.

Valencias father is quoted as saying in  El Universoas translated by The Sun“He definitely will not continue in Manchester.

“He wants a change in the air and the club is not going to renew him either. Like everything in life, everything comes to an end.

“Arsenal, West Ham, Inter Milan and one club from China are options, but in football everything is changing.

“He wants to choose the best option, but above all he wants to sign a contract for two years.”
