Report: Vlasic nightmare could be over

Nikola Vlasic could finally be set to leave the club this week, if reports in Italy are to be believed.

We reported last week that there had been no contact from Serie A over a deal for the Croatia international.

But a new report in the country, from Calciomercato, claims that Vlasic is wanted by Torino.

They were linked last week as well but it seems the deal has moved on, with there being a willingness from Vlasic to make the move.

Torino are aiming to sign him on loan with an option to buy as they look to strengthen their squad, and the Irons flop is said to be putting pressure on the Hammers to sanction the move.

Vlasic has been a disaster at the London Stadium, scoring just once last season and only making six starts in the Premier League.

We’re cautious on this one because of what we were told last week, but the link isn’t going away.

  1. So Dave were letting Vlasic go , looks like Diop is also on his way to Fulham . We’re already short of quality and numbers . When are we going to see some quality additions to the team DM needs to be backed by the board.

  2. Hopefully we can command a loan fee? It seems to common for us to pay over the odds and then sell for pittance and loan to buy for players exiting.
Especially when you look at how much Curacalla (spelling wrong) went for. We seem to devalue players.

  3. According to Calcio Mercato I think it is Napoli are trying to Gazump Torino, if true we should insist on Zielinski as part of the deal, if they tell him he’s off that will be that.

  4. Don’t think he’s really had a chance to show if he’s a “disaster” or not. The few times we’ve seen him on the pitch he’s not looked too bad. At least he’s seemed able to keep hold of the ball when he gets it, could’ve done with him on the pitch Sunday !

  5. Yes I thought he might have been subbed on midway through the second half when we were being overrun and Soucek particularly looked lost ? Two subs in injury time was just desperate not tactical
