Report: West Ham claimed to be in pole position for Chelsea man

|

According to Transfer20.com West Ham have been placed on pole position to sign Chelsea midfielder  Tiemoué Bakayoko who is currently on loan at Monoco

The report claims the Hammer team is willing to take Bakayoko on a permanent basis. Chelsea paid 40 million for Bakayoko from Monaco in 2017, he was loaned to Milan for 5 million euros, but the Lombards did not end up buying it either despite having an option for 31 million euros.

Chelsea are said to be holding out for a transfer fee of 42 million Euros which converts to almost £38m plus his wages are reported to be £110,000 per week.

This report has all the hallmarks of an agent story as West Ham have no transfer budget this summer, will not make any bids until they can be sure which division they are in and want to trim the £135m annual wage and not increase it.

I think we will bring back the rumour rator for this one!
