Report: West Ham keen to sign defender

West Ham United have joined Leeds United and Brighton and Hove Albion  in the chase for  Anderlecht defender Zeno Debast, according to Voetbal Belgie.

The highly rated teenager has made 50 appearances for the Belgian outfit already and has recently broken through into the international side.

The Hammers have allegedly been monitoring the 19 year old for some months and assuming we keep our Premier League status will be a summer target.

That also assumes David Moyes is still at the club or that any new manager continues the interest in the youngster.

The Hammers had a close up look ay Debast earlier this season when he played in both Europa Conference League group clashes against us and impressed the Hammers management.

“Leeds United, West Ham United and Brighton and Hove Albion would follow Zeno Debast’s performance closely,” according to Voetbal Belgie.

Debast forms a strong duo with Jan Vertonghen at Anderlecht and was called up for the Red Devils by the new national coach Domenico Tedesco.

Debast is still under contract until mid-2025 and has a value of €10million (£8.8million) at Transfermarkt.
