Report: West Ham make first move in Napoli approach

|

West Ham have reportedly made the first move for Napoli’s £14million-rated centre back Nikola Maksimovic

Sky Sport Italia report that the Hammers have now made an offer for Maksimovic, whose current contract runs out next summer with him failing to agree on terms on an extension with the Serie A club.

West Ham and Napoli are currently claimed to be in early negotiations, with Napoli keen to secure between £14m and £19m for their player.

Fulham are said to be keeping a very close eye on developments as they continue their search for a centre back before the transfer window closes next Monday.

After failing with attempts to sign James Tarkowski from Burnley, Claret and Hugh have been told that the club is not close with any centre back signings as it stands but are actively enquiring about a number of targets. A source close to the club suggested there have been enquiries about Maksimovic but talks of a formal offer make be a little premature at this stage.
