Report: West Ham register interest in 18 year-old midfielder

French newspaper L’Equipe have reported that West Ham and Crystal Palace have registered an interest in Ligue 2 side AC Ajaccio’s 18year-old attacking midfielder Davis Abanda. The twin brother of AC Milan left-back Leroy Abanda is being followed closely both Premier League clubs says the article. Abanda scored 5 goals in the French 5th division this season.

The midfielder who is eligible to represent either France or Cameroon at international level joined Ligue 2 side Ajaccio from Bastia in 2017 and has plenty of admirers in Europe.

Abanda, who has just one year left on his contract at Ajaccio, told ML2 in October that he was thrilled to be representing a club who have an impressive track record when it comes to giving young players a chance.

Not much else is known about this player but it has all the hallmarks of a possible recruit for the West Ham Academy with possible future potential.

  1. Bastia to Ajaccio? That is a story in itself. I’m already sold 🙂
