Jack Wilshere’s injury issues are becoming the nightmare many predicted when the club decided to invest in a three year contract for the former Gunner.

For this morning The Mirror–  via Darren Lewis – who has good links to the London Stadium inside sources reports that the midfielder is likely to be missing for yet another five weeks with his fresh ankle problem.

The Wilshere situation has been discussed many times but it makes it no less worrying and expensive should the report be accurate as the player’s history tends to show it may well be.

He has made just a brief appearance at Newcastle before the Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini revealed  he has another injury on the other ankle to the one on which he received surgery in October.

And it means that in all the player has made just four lack lustre appearances in the first four defeats of the season following his reported £100k switch to West Ham.

In his report Lewis says Wilshere has been ruled out for the entire festive period, with the Hammers worried he could need yet another operation.
