Reported Irons transfer move won’t happen

Reports that Manchester City’s Kalvin Phillips could be on his way to the Hammers in January can be totally discounted.

West Ham News | Kalvin Phillips

It’s a story which represents the usual recycled stuff we get in an international break when there is a REAL shortage of genuine news.

It is being reported on the usual headline-hungry media sites that the one time target is becoming increasingly fed up with life at City where he is getting few minutes and is now ready to move on.

The Hammers had shown an interest in the former Leeds midfielder when Declan Rice left but the player wanted to take his chance with impressing City boss Pep Guardiola.

However, he has made just three appearances this season and the club are ready to let him go but it won’t be to the London Stadium. Newcastle are thrown in as a possible club as well.

Hammers boss David Moyes brought in James Ward-Prowse, Edson Alvarez and Mo Kudus this summer whilst Tomas Soucek signed a new deal and both Pablo Fornals and Said Benrahma are also available to him.

He also failed to make a decision on Jesse Lingard such was the wealth of talent available to him in that area of the pitch whilst Maxwell Cornet can play in there and let’s not forget Jarrod!

On top of all that the Hammers have also revealed to Claret and Hugh that they have little or no money for January buys and next summer will be looking for a central defender, left back and striker!

Phillips? No!
