A Manchester City fan has released a video on social media showing a fire extinguisher being set off in the Sir Trevor Brooking lower away concourse at half time. A steward can be seen wrestling with the fan on the video (shown below). The Man City fans claim they were barred from purchasing alcohol at half time at the Boleyn Ground yesterday. One senior steward told Claret and Hugh they heard over the radio that a steward was injured during the half-time incident. They said they were surprised there was no police at the game. We have been told that no police have been present at any home games this season except for in the CCTV control room.
After the final whistle was blown in the thrilling trouble flared up again in the Sir Trevor Brooking lower stand. One eye-witness claimed Man City fans crossed the divide between the two sets of fans. We understand the club have handed over CCTV footage to the police for review. The incident was quickly brought under control by stewards without police assistance and it seems like lots of shouting and pushing rather than fighting.
There were additional claims by West Ham fans that the club allowed Manchester City fan to leave the ground too early to mingle with home fans leaving the match. One fan has told us that Man City fans were again causing trouble at the Upton Park underground station queues trying to start altercations by trading abuse.

refused alcohol at halftime? we were asking for it imo!
handbags indeed…
There were a number of problems yesterday. Man City were refused alcohol at half time which led to them letting off fire extinguishers in the concourse in which a red coat steward was allegedly injured. After the full time whistle some Man City fans crossed the divide to get to Hammers fans in Sir Trevor Brooking lower where I sit. Again a red coat steward appeared to be injured and was sitting down after getting hit. Stewards got control of the situation quickly. There were no police at the game apart from the control room and haven’t been any police inside the ground all season. Further accusations suggest the club didn’t hold Man City fans back and a minority of those fans started some trouble in the queues for the Upton park underground station with some trying to start fights. Shame because it spoilt a great day
Agree with the others; on the whole relations on and on the pitch with City is very amicable. Often superb football in a spirit of fair play – Even that 0-0 a couple of seasons ago? Great game and mutual respect…. I like Bubs thinking that it is some Everton trouble makers trying to spoil a good thing!!
No problem here just like a fri night at the pub,
Probably Everton fans with city colours come to watch our new full back,
No need to give it space on our site
Lets not get carried away with this It was handbags for about a minute. City fans were applauding our fans on the other side of the terrace.
