Former PSG manager Christophe Galtier was interviewed by West Ham Vice Chairman Karren Brady and Sporting director Tim Steidten before the appointment of Graham Potter.
A French source close to Galtier who contacted Claret and Hugh said it was obvious from the interview that Brady and Steidten had different views on who the next head coach should be, and the Vice Chairman had a particular preference which was not Galtier so the interview was successful.
We know that David Sullivan and Tim Steidten also interviewed former AC Milan manager Paulo Fonseca last Sunday but that interview was also not successful.
When West Ham carried out their final interview for Graham Potter last Monday there was a full house, David Sullivan Karren Brady, Tim Steidten plus a number of other directors were present including Daniel Kretinsky who is thought to have joined by video link.
He must have impressed at that final interview to be appointed today although it appears he was the clear favourite all along with Karren Brady chief cheerleader for his appointment.
I think that Graham is a truly excellent person with so much experience, success and failure.
I am sure that given time and support from above we will see our defensive players performing better and youth academy products such as Ollie given opportunities.
We should all get behind him. As for Tim S who knows?.

It was unanimous between all of them. The entire board thought Potter was the best choice.
Believe that, you’ll believe anything.
Very pleased with the appointment of Potter. Really hope he can get this squad humming along like we all know it could and should be. A few signings to improve defence and attack and we will look a different side.
My expectations of Graham Potter is a top half finish for this season.
the only thing that makes potter bearable for me is he might bring the youth team through a bit more than the last 2 did And I read somewhere that he wants his own Technical Director If that means Steinten will be gone too I will give him a chance but I don’t like him for West Ham let’s hope I’m wrong
I think it was imperative that we hired a British manager. The language barrier was clearly a factor in being able to communicate with the players, and say what you will about the strength of foreign managers’ English, I believe it matters, when so many players are not speaking English as their first language. GP was my first choice, and I don’t care who else we interviewed, or who did or said what. We have a new beginning – let’s just focus on that, not what has been…
Think they got this right.
I’m happy with the appointment of Potter.
But only time will tell I guess. Here’s hoping for some positive progress.
