Rice deal hold-up – fans reaction

|

Claret and Hugh followers have been having their say on the hold up to the Declan Rice for Arsenal which still hasn’t been completed. Here are some random comments from the CandH forums.

Arsenal on Rice back foot

  • I smell a rat! What is so different with the Rice contract to the many others that go through without going off to Lawyers for days on end, or even at all? Are the Gooners deliberately stalling? I think we should say to them, complete now or either the price is more or the deal is off!
  • Simply tell Arsenal then that they have till the end of the day or we’re going to pull the plug on the deal. Rice won’t be happy about it but if he is a true professional then he’ll understand. To me they’re clearly looking for a loop hole to extend the time to pay over. But if it all agreed then I can’t see what is taking so long. Send it over to me, I’ll have it done by end of the day.
  • Maybe Arsenal feel they have their man and want to make us wait for the money to impair our own transfer business. Surely not?!? Guess if Arsenal don’t get this sorted soon, Rice will need to return to training!
  • Give them 24hrs to sort or tell we will pull the plug and it’s off. Then when they come back tell them we want it all in 2 payments and its 10mil more. They will soon sign the paperwork.
  • Why is Rice in the Algarve? He should be training with us until he signs for Arsenal. I suspect Arsenal won’t have cash until they offload Partey and others.

  • Hammeroo says:

“Why is Rice in the Algarve? He should be training with us until he signs for Arsenal.” I disagree, Hugh. He should be here in Perth, Western Australia with Moyes’ Boys, doing some light training, meeting fans and signing autographs. Us fans have paid good money to watch the Hammers play here and to leave key team members behind is disrespectful. If Harry Kane can come over with Spurs then we should be bringing our best here too.
