Rice quashes transfer speculation

Declan Rice has taken time out while on holiday in Florida to quash of any talk linking him with a move away from West Ham this summer.

The Hammers midfielder has been linked with Manchester United by the Sun newspaper yesterday with reports suggesting that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will lodge an £80m offer for the England international this transfer window.

Club sources have told multiple members of the media and Claret and Hugh that Rice isn’t for sale this summer.

In a message posted on the club’s Instagram account, the 20-year-old has now appeared to commit his future to the Hammers by posting a love heart with the message ‘See you all soon Hammers’ with two Hammers emojis.

Rice is in Orlando, Florida with his family visiting theme parks and posting his exploits on social media. Players are due back in July for their pre-season training including a training camp in Switzerland

  1. In an ideal world, he stays with us his whole career and becomes a legend. Reality probably suggests he’ll leave at some point to win things and I think most West Ham fans will be OK with that if it all unfolds in the right way. I think there’s a happy ending here for everybody concerned if all parties handle it correctly.

Dec is only 20, he can play another 4-5 seasons with us and still leave a young man with bags of time to win trophies. If in 4-5 seasons we haven’t kicked on enough for him to want to stay, he can move on for an astronomical sum of money.

It’s fantastic for the lad to post that and seemingly show his loyalty to the fans. I hope the club reward him with a new contract recognising his class. He’s still on a modest sum compared to many other less important players.
