Declan Rice still has the Hammers deep in heart and that is likely to remain for the rest of his life.
He has moved across London but home it seems really is where the heart is and the former skipper has been speaking about his feelings since leaving with great affection for the club.

It is no surprise of course but that doesn’t make it any less enjoyable to hear because after all he owes the academy for his breakthrough in the first place after being binned at Chelsea as a youth player
He has explained he still has a deep connection with the Irons and although he may now be a Gooner and wearing their shirt the Hammers still play a huge role in his life.
And it is probably be fair to say he will have been as delighted at the signings we have made to ensure that he is not over missed at the London Stadium.
Speaking in an interview with Channel 4 before England versus Ukraine on Saturday (9 September), he said: “I really can’t explain the feelings, people leave clubs and lose affiliations with that club. I still speak to the boys regularly.
“I texted the manager at the start of the season saying ‘Good luck boss’. He texted me back. We’ve got a good relationship. People at the club, we’re still constantly talking and I never want it to not be like that.”
