Ridiculous Transfer to Fix £93M Botch Job

Reports linking Chelsea’s Tosin Adarabioyo with a move to West Ham United in the January transfer window make little sense.

For starters, the West Londoners’ manager, Enzo Maresca, has started Adarabioyo in two of Chelsea’s last four games, and secondly, there is no pressing need for high flying Chelsea to sell.

The 27-year-old joined on a free transfer at the start of this season, and West Ham were certainly interested in signing him when he left Fulham on a Bosman.

However, Chelsea would now command a hefty fee for the player, and West Ham have other priorities. The club will be looking to recruit a striker and possibly a midfielder in January, with limited funds to do so.

The Hammers’ defence has already seen a £93 million investment during the summer with the arrivals of Max Kilman, Jean-Clair Todibo, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, yet the defence is still struggling.

One gets the impression that even if West Ham spent £293 million on their defence, the issues would persist because it’s the system rather than the personnel that’s the problem. Whilst Julen Lopetegui got the desired result in the Hammers’ 2-1 win against Wolves, Gary O’Neil’s side still created 19 chances without playing particularly well.

Therefore, throwing money at yet another central defender would be a complete waste and would fix very little.

In the Hammers case attack is the best defence as it’s always been the West Ham way.
    We need forwards not defenders

  • Rob says:

Come on everyone, defence is now reasonably filled, the midfield wants a complete overall. Solar is the only one that fits at the moment. We also have a huge centre forward problem!

Slow midfielders is they key area of concern.

Moyes bought JWP just to take corners for £30m but is slow and not suited to play with Alvarez or Soucek. Can’t get a game on loan due to better more mobile players like Anderson.

Rodriguez bought after recommendation from Loppy but suits slow possession style in La Liga.

Soler still looks like La Liga also suits him as the Premiership is faster and frenetic compared to Spain and France.

Alvarez looked decent in his first season under Moyes but needed dynamic midfielders around him – see above.

Striker situation is mainly down to Sullivan and Moyes. Could’ve signed Viktor Gyökeres for £17m but Moyes didn’t rate him.

Siigned Haller and Scamacca but failed to secure Duran from Villa!

      • Bill Ryan says:

Gykores you can add Watkins,Toney Alvarez and now Duran to that list, plus the total in effectual use of Haller and schammaca all on Sullivans or Moyes watch, if that doesn’t show Sullivans incompetence on player recruitment and Moyes inability to use a striker then I don’t know what does, JOKE 🤬

  • Matt says:

Shame Sullivan never paid for Duran at Villa who Steidten was pushing so hard to recruit.

I recall you thinking the same Gonzo in the summer.

Sullivan has been undermining Steidten and doing his best via all available top sources to discredit both Steidten and Germans in general.

Hurzeler or Hoeness as our coach would’ve both been a massive upgrade on Sullivan’s choice!

    • Bill Ryan says:

Yep the German at Brighton is showing if you have faith in an up and coming young manager you get rewards same with dezerbi , Sullivan can’t see further than the end of nose

  • FredK says:

We can buy whoever as it makes very little difference to the non-existent system that we are currently playing.

    • Andy says:

How many “one more games” before Sullivan realises he made the mother of all f*ck ups?!

All this crap about you have one more game to keep your job is a farce JLo should have been sacked ages ago yet he’s still here I have to ask why the longer he stays in charge the worse it gets the more players kicking off openly showing how little respect they have for him given the way JLo conducts himself it’s hardly surprising we have a minimum of 5players that wants out if JLo remains in charge and I dare say more will follow as a coach he has not a clue how to turn things around he has made our club a laughing stock it’s a absolute disgrace that he is still in charge

  • Andy says:

Maybe if Looe the Dope hadn’t wanted to bring in Rodriguez after pretending he’d assessed our team ahead of joining, we could’ve signed a mobile dynamic enforcer?

He scammed Sullivan at interview stage and has been a fraud ever since.

  • blu says:

West Ham delusional story !!!! Tosin was never ever going to go to them not even on loan .

    • John says:

Chelsea looking good I have to admit with their young tactically great coach who has managed in a second tier league – bit like Hurzeler.

      • Matt says:

We missed Hurzeler and Amorin but Sully can still save this season by showing Leadership, vision and ambition by going all out to hire Sebastien Hoeness!
