Rivals emerge for Irons No 1 target

Chelsea-striker-Michy-Batshuayi-614216West Ham are set to have Monaco as rivals s they bid to land Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi this summer.

The Irons are keen to make the Belgian their No 1 signing after missing out to the losing FA Cup finalists last year.

However, the French outfit have been following events at Stamford Bridge and are ready to set up a tug of war for the Blues front man.

It is understood however that the 23 year old still feels the need to prove himself in the Premier League after scoring twice in the 5-1 crushing of Sunderland.

And after only moving from the French League last summer he is believed to feel  a move back so quickly would be unhelpful at this stage.

The Irons have him at the head of their striker list as they look for the answer to their goals problem and will seriously push the boat out for him.

A source told ClaretandHugh: “Everybody knows we wanted him last season so it’s hardly a big secret how we feel about the player.”

  1. I personally wouldn’t want him.I can’t put my finger on it but he seems the type of player who would only come here for the money and wouldn’t have the passion for our club unlike zabaletta.
He didn’t want to join us last season so why would he bother now plus he hasn’t made the impact at chelsea they thought he would and that’s why they want to unload him.

    • To be fair to the lad, he hasn’t got any connection to the club & when Chelski came in last summer & promised him the earth he was always going to sign. He has just walked away with a PL winners medal & scored the goal that won the title. In turn we had a crap season with next to no enjoyable moments (beating spuds 🙂 )
We stand more chance this year as he wants to stay in the PL & we can offer game time as first choice front man. He wouldn’t have to move house win win in my book
